A Taste of Vietnam in the Heart of Santa Ana

One of the standout features of Quan Huong is its commitment to providing an authentic Vietnamese dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the comforting aromas of freshly prepared dishes, many of which are traditional recipes passed down through generations. The restaurant’s menu offers a wide variety of dishes, from classic pho and banh mi to lesser-known gems like bun bo hue and goi cuon (Vietnamese spring rolls).

As someone who's dined at countless Vietnamese restaurants, I can confidently say that the quality and authenticity of the food at Quan Huong are exceptional. The pho, for example, is a must-try. The broth is rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of spices. Whether you opt for beef or chicken, every bite feels like a comforting embrace. It’s clear that the restaurant uses high-quality ingredients, and the attention to detail in every dish speaks volumes about the chefs’ dedication to their craft.

The staff made me feel like a guest in their home, ensuring I had everything I needed for an enjoyable meal.

Must-Try Dishes at Quan Huong

When you visit Quan Huong, you’ll want to make sure you try some of their signature dishes that have earned rave reviews from both locals and visitors. Here are a few of my personal favorites:

  • Pho: The heart and soul of Vietnamese cuisine. Quan Huong’s pho features a deeply flavorful broth that has been simmered for hours, creating a rich base for the tender noodles and fresh herbs.
  • Banh Mi: If you're craving something on the go, the Vietnamese sandwich, known as banh mi, is a must-try. The crispy baguette filled with savory meats, pickled vegetables, and fresh herbs offers a satisfying crunch with every bite.
  • Bun Bo Hue: This spicy noodle soup from Central Vietnam offers a perfect balance of heat and flavor. The broth is tangy, spicy, and savory, with a fragrant blend of lemongrass and shrimp paste. For those who enjoy bold flavors, this is a dish you’ll want to savor.
  • Goi Cuon (Spring Rolls): Fresh and light, these rice paper rolls are filled with shrimp, vegetables, and herbs, served with a flavorful peanut dipping sauce.

They share a small parking lot with some other businesses. Can be tricky at times. I tried the banh xeo with lettuce wrap. It was tasty. It was a bit too oily with the bean sprouts for me, but not super bad. The fish sauce was good. Also tried the birds nest with seafood. There was a lock to it but it was delicious.

I haven't been here for a while I live in San Diego county. I came on 3-23-24 I was hungry for their braised prawns. Tom Cang kho, the best I've tasted in years. I also ordered pork belly they served lots of lettuce & herbs called thit ba chi luoc. Service was excellent I would come back monthly from now on. I am very impressed with the quality of service.

Food was pretty good. The hot pot tastes like Canh Chua, but served with catfish, a lot of bamboo, and banana blossom. Also got the Oc Huong Nuong/ grilled Huong snails, which was also pretty good. Overall nothing special. This place was also packed when I came around dinnertime and most people were eating hot pot and seafood. I also thought the hot pot presentation was interesting, but fun! I would say the best thing about this restaurant is the indoor atmosphere. Cozy and dim tropical vibes.

Long overdue.... Where do I start?? 1. Food: love the com Gia Dinh here. I got canh chua, ca kho to, rau luot , Tom rim and it was all so good. Need to try other foods on the menus too. My friends rave about it so excited to try it next. 2. Service: all the employees here was very nice and super helpful. They were quick too. Ps have to try nuoc da me and Che buoi. Ugh! I'm drooling thinking about it now. FYI they close at 9pm not 10pm...
